Alotenango sits between Volcán de Agua and the Fuego and Acatenango pair on Highway 14, the road from Antigua to Escuintla and the Pacific coast, about twenty five to thirty minutes from the park. It marks the edge of our core working area, and it spans a long way, reaching all the way out to the golf resort. It is warmer and lower than Antigua and one of the oldest settlements in the region.
There are lots of gated communities in this stretch, with larger parcels, pools and clubhouses, and it is a solid choice if you want to be close to Antigua and on the way to the coast at the same time.
