Santo Tomás Milpas Altas sits right next to Santa Lucía, sharing the same stretch of the Antigua to Guatemala City highway, but set a little off it on the other side in an open valley. It is a nice, open area with several gated communities around it and even a high rise apartment building or two, and it works well as a commuter town: the capital in one direction, Antigua in the other, and the cooler highland climate that comes with the altitude.
